women's ministry

The ZF Women’s Ministry Team is committed to the biblical vision of true community, which includes living out the "one anothers" of Scripture together (love, encourage, forgive, etc.). God’s Word instructs us toward an ongoing ethos of discipleship as we seek to help one another know, follow, and become like Jesus. These kinds of relationships are mutually beneficial, build up the body of Christ, and make much of the Gospel.

Practically this involves: 1) women of all ages and experiences opening Scripture together to study and learn, 2) older women teaching and training younger women, and 3) making intentional efforts to connect and invest in the lives of other women, being “mutually encouraged by one another’s faith.”

While the primary places for these to happen are in small groups and intentional friendships, we also plan ministries and events to help encourage these connections. These various opportunities are intended to help foster meaningful relationships and be equipped in the Word.

Women's Monthly Newsletter

A newsletter specific to Women's Ministries is emailed out on a monthly basis. This is a great way to stay in touch with the most current information on Women's Events. If you are not on this email list and would like to be, please email (office@zionsvillefellowship.org) to sign up!

Summer Studies

During the summer months, when Habits of the Heart is not in session, we offer several opportunities for women to participate in Summer Bible Studies together. Generally, 3-4 intergenerational studies take place at varied times in an attempt to accommodate a variety of schedules and almost always meet in homes. The studies themselves are generally around 8 weeks long and take an in-depth look at a book of the Bible or a Scripture-saturated topical book. Summer studies provide a wonderful opportunity for connection, fellowship, hospitality and equipping in the Word. This summer we are offering the studies listed below and they will begin the first week of June and go through July.

Behold and believe: A bible study on the "I am" statements of jesus - courtney doctor & joanna kimbrel

Seeing is believing. If we want to know who Jesus is and why he is important to our lives, we need to take a closer look at what he said about himself. Jesus describes himself as the bread of life, the light of the world, the good shepherd, and more. His bold words invite us to behold him―and then to trust him.

Whether you’ve never read the Bible, have followed Jesus for years, or find yourself somewhere in between, this 7-week Bible study will help you

explore the question, Who is Jesus? Using the “I Am” statements in the Gospel of John, authors Courtney Doctor and Joanna Kimbrel demonstrate how to observe, interpret, apply, and reflect on key Bible verses about Jesus’s identity. Weekly prayers, memory verses, brief commentaries, and discussion questions help women to see Jesus, trust him alone for salvation, and proclaim his goodness to others.

seek first the kingdom: god's invitation to life and joy in the book of matthew - christine hoover

In the confusion and sheer volume of ideas vying for our attention, we must constantly return to the words of Jesus to find our focus, our purpose, and the foundation for a flourishing life. Using parables and stories, Jesus spoke often of the kingdom of God as what matters. In other words, the kingdom of God defines who we are and what we do as Christians. Join Christine Hoover for an in-depth exploration of the book of Matthew. She'll help you understand the culture of the kingdom of God—what it is, how we enter it, and the life Jesus offers us within the kingdom. Learn how to find everlasting joy as a citizen of the kingdom.

dig deeper: tools for understanding god's word - nigel beynon and andrew sach

When it comes to reading and understanding the Bible, a dangerous phrase is used by non-Christians and even some believers: "Well, that's your interpretation." It is true that without some care in your interpretation, you can "make" the Bible say almost anything. Dig Deeper is written out of the conviction that there is a right way to understand the Bible and a wrong way, and the authors show us how to read it correctly.

Dig Deeper offers sixteen "tools" readers can use to get to the bottom of any Bible passage and discover its intended meaning. Examples show how each tool helps readers discover something exciting and relevant in a passage, and the "Dig deeper" exercises offer the opportunity to practice using the tools. The book's brevity and easy-to-read format make it ideal for Christians who want to get the most out of their Bible.

HABITS OF THE HEART WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY

Habits of the Heart Bible study is a ministry to women at ZF and the surrounding community. We meet at Zionsville Fellowship Church on Wednesday mornings from 9:15-11:15 AM and in the evenings from 7:00-8:15 PM. Infant and toddler care is offered for the morning session as well as preschool Bible classes.  This year we are also offering an elementary-age class for children attending with their mothers or grandmothers.  The children will also study the Gospel of Mark in a format specifically designed for them.  Our time together will vary but can include video and live teaching, singing, and intergenerational small group discussions.

We will begin a new semester on September 11th and we will study the Gospel of Mark. You can REGISTER HERE.

Through the lens of Mark, we learn who the real Jesus is and what His Kingdom is like. In this study of the life of Christ, we will be challenged to understand Jesus’ mission and purpose and what it means to follow Him.

If you have any questions, please contact Lynn Eriks lynneriks@icloud.com (317-979-8143). Scholarships are available. We look forward to seeing you.

mugs & muffins

Our Mugs & Muffins mornings are special events that take place twice a year (once during the spring and fall semesters respectively). We meet at the church building on a Saturday morning from 9:30-11:00 am to fellowship and grow together around a specific topic. Topics are varied and our time together always includes coffee, brunch, a speaker or panel of speakers and a craft with a time of discussion and fellowship.  The Fall Mugs & Muffins is scheduled for November 2, 2024.

progressive dinner

Progressive Dinners are a new tradition that we have begun in the Women's Ministry.  Our first Progressive Dinner took place on a Monday evening in the Fall of 2022 and was a sweet time of forging connections and relationships with sisters in Christ.

A progressive dinner is an opportunity for you to have an appetizer, main meal and dessert in two women's homes.  These homes are in close proximity to each other which allows for short and fun transitions between courses. It will be a sweet opportunity for relational depth to happen among women you may already know and for those that you may meet for the first time.  You don't need to bring any food to this event, simply show up and enjoy.  You will be notified by email before the dinner on which neighborhood you will be attending and which house you will be starting your meal.
